Photographs of Rita H. (Carey) Bowes's service with the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps (WAAC) during World War II. Bowes, a resident of Boston, Mass., was trained initially at the WAAC training center at Daytona Beach, Fla. in 1943 and then stationed at Scott's Field, Ill. ca. 1943-1945; she also took classes in personnel and finance at the Adjutant General School in Fort Washington, Md. in the summer of 1944. The photographs, most of which were taken by Bowes, depict her life, training, and fellow WAACs at all three stations. Also includes a clipping containing biographical information and a brochure about the WAAC training center in Florida.
